Aparan (The Impostor) is a 1988 Malayalam mystery film written and directed by P. Padmarajan, starring Jayaram, Mukesh, Shobana, Parvathy Jayaram and Madhu. Loosely based on the short story "Aparan" by Padmarajan, the film is about mistaken identity and the problems that a young, innocent man had to undergo in his life. It was the debut film of Jayaram. The film was critically acclaimed and was a box office superhit.
